Why It Matters

Many organizations discover talent gaps only when a key person resigns or a new program launches without the right staff. Recruiting, training, and succession planning each happen, but in isolation and usually in reaction to a crisis. An integrated talent strategy looks ahead. It identifies critical roles and skills, builds internal pipelines, and focuses retention efforts where they matter most. The result is an organization better prepared for growth, turnover, and leadership transitions.

Course Description

Aimed at leaders and HR professionals who shape talent decisions, this is a strategic course. Participants start by identifying the critical roles and skills their organization will need in the coming years and comparing them with current capacity. A workforce planning exercise turns those gaps into priorities. Small groups then design development pathways for high-potential staff and practice a talent review discussion using sample profiles, focusing on evidence and avoiding bias. A succession segment covers identifying ready-now and ready-later candidates for key roles. The course closes with retention: spotting flight risk and targeting effort where it counts. Participants leave with a draft talent plan outline for their organization.
