Communication Strategies
Match message, channel, and style to the people you need to reach
Why It Matters
Most communication failures are not about grammar. They come from sending sensitive news by email, giving executives detail they did not need, or missing the concern behind a colleague's question. As teams spread across locations and tools, these choices multiply. Employees who plan communication deliberately reduce misunderstandings and rework. Organizations benefit from faster alignment, fewer escalations, and messages that reach stakeholders in a form they can use.
Course Description
Participants gain a simple planning habit for any important message: define the goal, profile the audience, choose the channel, and decide how to confirm understanding. They apply it to common cases such as announcing a change, asking another team for support, and delivering unwelcome information. A listening segment covers active listening, clarifying questions, and reflecting back what was heard. Participants also examine their own preferred style, whether direct, detailed, relational, or big-picture, and practice adjusting for colleagues who prefer something different. In scenario rounds, small groups plan the same message for two different audiences, then compare choices. Everyone leaves with a planning template and one upcoming communication to apply it to, plus a point to review how it landed.
