Universal Safety Practices

Personal safety habits that travel with you to any worksite

Why It Matters

Many employees move between settings: a field visit in the morning, a community event in the afternoon, a client home or school building in between. Site-specific training cannot cover every location. Universal habits fill the gap. Staff who scan their surroundings, wear the right protective gear, lift correctly, and stop to ask questions avoid many common injuries. Organizations with mobile or rotating workforces gain a consistent safety baseline across every site.

Course Description

Where other safety courses focus on a specific building or a full safety program, this one builds personal habits that go wherever people work. Participants practice situational awareness drills using photos and short scenarios, learning to scan for hazards on arrival at an unfamiliar site. A hands-on segment covers selecting, inspecting, wearing, and removing common protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection, and high-visibility gear. Participants also practice safe lifting and carrying, and review housekeeping, safe driving and travel habits, and stop-work authority. Each segment ends with a quick habit commitment. The session closes with a personal pre-task checklist participants can use at any location.
