Why It Matters

Meetings consume a large share of the workweek, and many end with unclear decisions and no follow-through. The cost is real: lost productivity, frustrated staff, and work that stalls between sessions. Better meeting management is one of the fastest improvements a team can make. When meetings have clear purposes, the right people, and documented actions, organizations get faster decisions and employees get time back for focused work.

Course Description

Participants audit their own recurring meetings and decide which to keep, change, combine, or cancel. They then practice the full meeting cycle. In planning, they write an agenda with a purpose and desired outcome for each item and choose who truly needs to attend. In running, they rotate as chair in short simulated meetings that include late arrivals, tangents, and a stalled decision. In follow-up, they draft concise action notes with owners and due dates and plan how progress will be checked. Discussion covers hybrid meetings, standing team meetings, and meetings with external partners. Participants leave with an improved agenda template and a plan to reset one recurring meeting.
