Why It Matters

Colleagues, hiring managers, and clients form an opinion about what you are known for, often based on scattered signals. When that picture is vague or inconsistent, opportunities go to people who are easier to understand. A deliberate personal brand helps people get considered for the right roles and projects. Organizations benefit when staff represent themselves, and by extension the organization, credibly with clients, partners, and the public.

Course Description

Personal branding here is about authenticity and consistency, not self-promotion. Participants start by gathering raw material: strengths, values, signature accomplishments, and how others already describe them. From that, they draft a brand statement that names who they serve, what they offer, and what makes their approach distinct. The course then tests that statement against every touchpoint: introductions, email signatures, meeting behavior, online profiles, and the quality of the work itself. A gap analysis shows where actions and the intended reputation do not match. Peer feedback helps sharpen statements that sound generic. Emerging talent can build a brand from school, volunteer, and program experience. Participants finish with a brand statement and three actions to make it visible over the coming month.
