Why It Matters

Presentations, performance reviews, reorganizations, and uncertain funding can all trigger persistent worry. When that worry goes unaddressed, people avoid tasks, overprepare, or stay quiet in meetings, and both their work and wellbeing suffer. Many also don't know what support their employer offers. Helping employees recognize anxiety, use practical coping tools, and reach resources early reduces stigma and supports retention. Managers gain a clearer sense of how to respond supportively without stepping outside their role.

Course Description

This is general workplace education delivered with care, not clinical treatment. Participants first learn to distinguish everyday nervousness from persistent worry and to recognize common signs in thoughts, body, and behavior. They then practice coping strategies suited to the workplace: grounding techniques, breaking a dreaded task into a small first step, preparing for a high-pressure moment, and questioning worst-case thinking. Discussion covers common triggers such as performance reviews, public speaking, and organizational change. A dedicated segment explains when to seek more support, how an Employee Assistance Program works, and how to ask for help or flexibility. Managers who attend get guidance on responding to an employee who discloses anxiety. Sharing is always optional. Each participant leaves with a personal coping plan and a list of support resources.
