Work-Life Balance

Set boundaries and priorities that make your workload sustainable

Why It Matters

Always-on email, blurred lines between home and office, and growing workloads make it hard to fully switch off. Over time, people lose energy, relationships suffer, and performance declines. Balance is not about equal time for everything; it is about sustainable choices aligned with priorities. Employees who set clear boundaries stay more engaged. Organizations that support sustainable workloads see better retention, fewer absences, and stronger results from people who are not running on empty.

Course Description

Rather than offering a single formula, the course helps each participant define balance on their own terms. They begin by clarifying priorities across work, family, health, community, and personal growth, then compare those priorities with how their time and energy are really spent. Next, they identify the boundaries that would close that gap, such as when they check messages, which requests they accept, and how they protect personal commitments. Practice rounds focus on communicating those boundaries to supervisors and colleagues. A workload segment shows how to raise capacity concerns with data and propose trade-offs. Participants also discuss what managers can do to model sustainable habits. Each person drafts a balance plan with one boundary, one priority to protect, and a review date.
